Following the footsteps of George Adamson, the Trace Of The Big Cats Safari now changing to #Bigcatshow Safari will be focusing on the Big Cats. The journey Will start on the Kenya's Northern Frontier District in Samburu Game Reserve and Meru National Park, where was the home to George Adamson and a region where making of the film Born Free was made. The journey will get down to the great plains of Masai Mara with a night stop at Lake Naivasha where Joy Adamson spent most her life.

It is a standard photo Safari that has proven to be famous and the outcome is more than expectations.


Day 1

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, You will be met by Wild Extracts team. A six hour drive will take us Samburu Game Reserve, A semi-arid reserve in the Northern frontier of Kenya.

Day 2 & 3

Samburu National Reserve

Two days will be spent here as we try get a glimpse of the native Lions, leopards and hundreds of Elephants in the reserve. The conservation of African elephants here has proven to be so successful and it will be a chance view them up close and in all angles alongside our mission of the big cat hunt.


Day 4 & 5

Meru National Park

After an early morning game drive in Samburu, we will head to Meru National Park. This park is a unique and has been under-utilized despite its great potential for the nature lovers. This was the official home of late George Adamson where he met and raised Elsa the Lioness featured in the book and movie Born Free.  It also offers one of the best birding photography and amazing scenery across.


Day 6

Lake Naivasha

After breakfast in the Meru National Park, we will start another exiting journey which takes us right on the floor of The Great Rift Valley. Lake Naivasha is one of the big Rift valley lakes known for its biodiversity. From bird watching to aquatic species here you get it all.

We will have a late afternoon boat ride which will introduce us to an amazing photographic opportunities.  Depending on the weather the next morning, we will have an option of having a morning boat ride before departing to our final destination.


Day 7 – 11

Masai Mara National Reserve

After the lake adventure, we will head South West Kenya to seek the climax of the safari in the world famous destination – Masai Mara National Reserve.

We will spend the next five days here aiming to get the best from this destination. It is the home of the big five, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles plus much more aspect of nature. Masai Mara is an all year destination unless you are specific to the great migration.


Day 12

Masai Mara – Nairobi

After an early morning game drive. We will depart to Nairobi where you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight.
